In late 2025 the YSR Congress Party opposed the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to privatise seventeen government medical colleges and hospitals. In Kurnool city, Ahmed Ali Khan led a one-crore signature campaign ward by ward — at KC Canal Park, Osmania College, Narayana College and Masters Junior College among other locations — and his office recorded 64,577 signatures collected across the Kurnool city constituency before they were handed over to the district. A rally against the privatisation was held in Kurnool in November 2025.
